We’re proud to announce that Riverina Water will once again return as a Community Partner in 2026, continuing their valued support of our Indigenous Talent Identification Day (ITID).
Riverina Water has been a long-standing supporter of this important initiative, helping provide opportunities for First Nations young people across the Riverina to showcase their talent and explore future sporting pathways.
The 2026 Indigenous Talent Identification Day will be held on the 23 June at PCYC Wagga Wagga. The free event brings together emerging athletes from across the region to participate in skill testing, sport-based activities, and talent identification in front of Southern Sports Academy coaches. Athletes identified as having strong potential may be invited to a follow-up session to further their development.
The partnership aligns with Riverina Water’s “Reflect” Reconciliation Action Plan 2024–25, which outlines their commitment to strengthening relationships with Wiradjuri and First Nations communities and recognising the deep cultural connection to the lands and waters of the region.
Riverina Water CEO Andrew Crakanthorp said the organisation is proud to continue its involvement.
“Southern Sport Academy has shown real commitment to inclusive and meaningful sport development,” he said. “We are excited to support the Indigenous Talent Identification Day once again and look forward to seeing what this day delivers for the athletes involved.”
“One of the most valuable things we can give a young athlete is clarity about what is possible. The Indigenous Talent Identification Day helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth explore the full range of pathways available to them in sport and the opportunity to showcase their abilities.
“With food and refreshments provided, the day is designed to be inclusive, welcoming, and accessible for all participants.”
This initiative is proudly supported by Riverina Water, whose contribution helps ensure the event remains free and accessible.
We thank Riverina Water for their ongoing commitment to supporting young Indigenous talent and look forward to another successful ITID in 2026.
