Olympic Change Makers Forum 2024: Inspiring Change and Celebrating Leadership
The 2024 Olympic Change Makers Forum in Sydney brought together an impressive lineup of Australia’s future sports leaders and inspiring Olympians. This year’s event saw the attendance of Olympians such as boxer Harry Garside, rugby sevens star Chloe Dalton, swimming sensation Lani Pallister, and water polo champion Keesja Gofers. These athletes shared their personal journeys, offering invaluable insights on leadership and perseverance.
Southern Sports Academy Rugby Athlete and 2024 Jenny King Chairperson Award Winner Luke Anderson was lucky enough to attend this year’s forum. Luke expressed his gratitude for the experience, saying, “I am so blessed to be able to come to Sydney and have this opportunity to listen to the athletes speak about their experiences.”
Harry Garside delivered a powerful message to the young attendees, saying,
“People will tell you to focus on things other than sport but follow what you want to follow… follow your dreams in anything you do.”
His words and those of his fellow Olympians set the tone for a day filled with inspiration and encouragement.
The forum offered Luke and other participants the chance to connect with some of the best in sport, engaging in meaningful conversations about leadership, resilience, and the impact sport can have on creating change. It was a reminder that sport is not just about competition but about fostering leadership and making a difference in the world.
