Regular skill training sessions from the 6th Nov 2019 through to April 2020. Apart from Golf skill and fitness development, key components of the scholarship include access to the range of consultants of the Academy.  Consultants deliver workshops on issues including, but not restricted to, Leadership, Sport Psychology, Strength and Conditioning, Recovery and Core Strength, Drugs in Sport and Sports Medicine principles.

The Academy will also deliver an Induction and Leadership weekend which is a compulsory event for all athletes of the Academy.

Training location: Country Club Wagga.

Age: Boys & Girls aged 15-18 (inclusive) in 2020
Current member of a club withing the SSA region with a desire to reach State, Junior and National Level

Committed to progressing to higher representation within the sport of Golf;

Currently residing within the SSA regional catchment.

  • Minimum 10 specialised coaching sessions
  • Induction and Leadership camp (Borambola- 1 night accommodation + meals)
  • Muscular skeletal Screening and Athletic Development programming
  • Professional development consultation sessions (Your Local Club Athlete Education Program)
  • Wagga Junior Masters (Wagga –15th and 16th of February 2020)
  • JNJG Peter O’Malley Junior Masters to be held at Bathurst Golf Club (Bathurst – 21st and 22nd of March 2020)
  • Clubs NSW Academy Games – Hunter (Travel, 2 nights accommodation 3rd-5th April 2020) This is a COMPULSORY event
  • Potential to represent SSA at the JNJG Pathways Academy Challenge (pending selection)
  • Access to Academy’s compulsory uniform (purchased via online portal)
  • Gym membership. Information to follow
  • Preferred rate on consultation services provided by Active Physiotherapy
  • Privileged pricing on Puma online store purchases
  • Annual presentation evening – 23rd October 2020, (sit down dinner)

A program levy will be applicable to successful athletes.  Also an athlete uniform ordered though our online clothing supplier Puma is required for new athletes.

Athlete levies are subsidised by minimum $100 worth or raffle ticket sales by athletes, this program is also eligible for the NSW Government Active Kids $100 voucher rebate.

* Scholarships are not in the form of a monetary sum but enable the athlete to participate in Academy development programs at a greatly reduced rate.
