NETBALL ASSISTANT MANAGER NOMINATIONS

2019 NETBALL PROGRAM ASSISTANT MANAGER

The Academy is now calling for Netball Assistant Manager nominations for the 2019 Netball Program. The online nomination form for the 2019 Ass. Manager needs to be completed by Wednesday 30th January 2019.

The selection process will take place by way of manager nominations being assessed by a selection panel comprising of representative from Netball NSW and the Southern Sports Academy.

To be eligible to manage the Academy Netball Program, applicants must have a strong desire to contribute to program success and potentially see themselves progressing within the Netball NSW Team Management Pathway. The primary role is to support the team coach. Each Coach has to dedicate a large amount of their personal time to training, match preparation, and of course, giving the squad every support during each training session and competition opportunity. As such, there is not a lot of time left to spend on the other less glamorous areas of running a netball team.

This is where the manager steps in. The role will simply be to take away some of the administration and time consuming areas such as communication that may be required. The manager role is not demanding, however a good manager will leave the coach with more time to actually ‘coach’ and therefore a stronger program will result.

This position has been developed to provide an opportunity for a dedicated manager to develop under the tuition of experienced management staff within the Netball NSW and SSA network, with the aim of promotion to Team manager within 12 months.

Areas of Management responsibility include:

  • Court-side management duties
  • Coordinating training times and attendance
  • Logistical requirements of training and competition
  • Maintain regular communications with players and parents regarding program requirements (TeamApp)
  • Maintain regular communications with SSA staff regarding program requirements, outcomes and achievements.
  • Report to SSA CEO regarding policy matters within the program

To be eligible for this position applicants must have a current NSW Working With Children Check.
